Safety Precautions:

• Never leave the hot plate unattended while it is in use. Someone should remain nearby and monitor the appliance during cooking.

• Do not touch the heating plate during operation or immediately after use. The surface becomes extremely hot and may cause burns.

• Do not immerse the hot plate in water or any other liquid. This may damage the appliance and create an electrical hazard.

• The hot plate is designed only for heating and cooking food. Always place a suitable cooking vessel on the heating plate before use.

• When not in use, turn all switches to the OFF position and unplug the power cord.

• Before first use, set the hot plate to Level 3 and run it for 3–5 minutes to evaporate the protective coating on the heating surface. A small amount of smoke or odor may occur during this process; this is normal and should not occur during subsequent use.

• Always use cookware with a smooth, flat bottom and a diameter that is appropriate for the size of the heating plate.

• Cookware with a bottom that is smaller than the heating plate may result in uneven or inefficient heating.

• Do not use cookware with a concave, convex, or otherwise uneven bottom. The cookware must sit securely and evenly on the heating surface.

• Keep all objects and combustible materials at least 30 cm (11.81 in.) away from the hot plate during operation. Do not block the ventilation area to ensure proper airflow and safe operation.
